He holds an MBBS, MS in General Surgery, Post MS, MCh in Gastrointestinal Surgery, MRCS (Glasgow), and a fellowship in a multiple organ transplant unit. With over 14 years of experience, Dr. Biju Chandran is skilled in complex hepatobiliary surgeries, robotic hepatic-biliary surgeries, minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgeries, colorectal and upper GI benign and cancer surgeries, and vascular surgeries. He was instrumental in developing the robotic live donor liver transplant program in India and is a trained organ retrieval surgeon accredited by British Transplant Surgery.

His extensive research background includes more than 15 publications in peer-reviewed, high-impact journals. Dr. Biju Chandran is a national faculty member at most transplant conferences and is committed to disseminating knowledge in robotic HPB surgery. His contributions to the field are recognized nationally and internationally, and his dedication to innovation and excellence has made him a leading figure in gastrointestinal, pancreatic, hepatobiliary, robotic, and multiorgan transplant surgery. He is also a member of the steering committee for minimally invasive liver transplants in India.
